A search was underway in New Jersey on Friday for a 21-year-old Rutgers University student who’s been missing more than a week.

Mortimer Wortman, who also goes by Morty, was last seen on Nov. 21 around 10:30 p.m. in Jackson Township, near the Collier Mills Wildlife Management Area, in the woods off High Bridge Road. Police have said Wortman should be considered missing and endangered.

“The Rutgers University Police Department is working closely with the Jackson Police Department, which is leading the investigation,” school spokeswoman Megan Florance told NJ Advance Media on Friday, confirming Wortman was a student on the New Brunswick-based campus.

Wortman was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, burgundy hoodie and blue jeans. He’s described as 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He also has a nose piercing in addition to several earrings in both ears.

Anyone with information on Wortman’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Jackson Township Police Department at 732-928-1111.
