ESPN analyst injured in Missouri crash being investigated by state attorney general

Matt Miller, the ESPN NFL draft analyst who shared last month on social media that his left arm was amputated following an automobile accident in southern Missouri, reportedly is being investigated by the state attorney general.
Awful Announcing first reported of the investigation.
USA Today said the Missouri attorney general’s office would not disclose the details of the investigation because it is active.
USA Today received this statement: “The Missouri Attorney General’s Office encourages consumers who believe they have been misled to contact us. Attorney General (Catherine) Hanaway takes consumer protection very seriously, and we will work diligently to uncover the facts.”
Talk of consumer protection could be a result of recent allegations against Miller, who joined ESPN in 2021.
Days after Miller shared details about the car accident, which occurred north of Joplin, Mo., a GoFundMe was set up to pay for hospital bills. Shortly thereafter, people began sharing stories of allegedly being scammed by Miller in a fantasy football league and scouting service.
“Even outside of the realm of fantasy I would consider him a con artist,” a Reddit user named SomeGuyNamedMatt93 wrote. “Several years ago he ran a scouting site called the draft scout. The first year and a few months afterwards were fine. At some point he ghosted all the paid subscribers and didn’t post anything for about 6 months. The site was a waste of time.”
The GoFundMe said Miller had a compound fracture of his left femur, a shattered left kneecap and multiple broken ribs as a result of the crash.
Listed among the names of people who donated were Adam Schefter, Pat McAfee and Mel Kiper, but it couldn’t be confirmed whether they were the actual ESPN sports media personalities.
